This semester is quickly coming to a close and I need to get my ass in gear in a big way... and I started today by spending almost six hours in the darkroom at school. For Fundamentals of Imaging (or photography), we have 15 categories that we need to fill. Before today I had 2-3, with one of those needing some rework. After six hours and almost two packs of photo paper later, I think I need 2-3. So basically, I made an insane amount of progress today. I still need to go through what I have printed and see what I need to redo and try to fit them into the categories assigned to us, but I am fairly satisfied.
I am slightly annoyed though. My original plan was to spend the six hours in lab, go over everything, then go shoot some film to fill the gaps, and spend more time in the lab tomorrow, with a final rinse and repeat on Saturday. I woke up all ready to go, got everything together, took a couple of shots of the snow falling hoping to be able to actually capture it falling (I didn't), and drove to lab. The whole time I was enjoying the first real snowfall we have got this year. Then about halfway through the day, I decided to take a break and grab a drink, it suddenly hit me, if it is snowing, that means that the lighting is going to suck. I kept going over my pictures hoping I would get what I needed so I would not have to reshoot anything. Lucky for me, I think I have all the pics that need direct light. Still, I have a few more shots I need, and the light sucks out there.
