The wife and I are trying a new toy this week. If all goes well, we might have a new addition to the computing family at the Doyle house. We picked up an Acer Aspire One, in blue... which we are calling Bleu. It is a snappy little guy, and I do mean little. He has a 8.9 inch screen (1024x600 screen res) and only weighs about 3 lbs. The keyboard is a little tight and button placement feels odd on some keys (I didn't realize how much I used the End key). Even with smaller keyboard, it is fairly easy to type on. I am fairly pleased with the battery life as well. During the setup, which had wifi on the entire time, I have gotten about 2-2.5 hours of battery life and I am sitting at 44%. I can say that I hate the trackpad and it will take some serious getting used to. The buttons are on the side (yes, I know, it is to save space), and they are fairly thin. I find myself slipping off the keys when dragging stuff, but then, after the initial setup, I doubt I will be dragging much.
All and all, I think are both going to love it...and it is a both of us device. While I have a feeling I will get more use of it than the wife_at least at first_it is probably going to get much love from both of us. Just hopefully not enough that we want a second one. Anyways, now that I am finished typing...and on Bleu...I am going to go play some WoW on the desktop.
