Time for another fun filled biweekly post from yours truely. Normally, I blame WoW and my own laziness for these lack of posts, but in all honesty (and you all know it), I really just don't have the required amount of activity in my life to justify posting all the time. The past two weeks, however, have all been me being lazy and just playing WoW...stuff actually happened. And that stuff, well, we are going to attack it in the following order: work, phone, Terre Haute, rantfest and WoW.
Work: Nothing extreme is happening here just more hours, more money, more sales, and a couple of new hires. The temperature is getting much hotter outside, which means some of the customers are wearing less...and sadly the good and the bad even out.
Phone: Me and the wife got new phones, the Sony Ericsson 580i (which is basicaly this years Razor). It is better in almost every way than my previous phone, the Samsung Sync. The two big features for me are: solid mp3 player, and most importantly, Erin likes it.
Terre Haute: Me and the wife ran up to the Haute last Friday after work and hung around until Sunday afternoon. We got to visit with most of the friends we left behind, play several hours of Dungeons and Dragons, watch Hellboy 2 (which reminds me, we saw The Dark Knight since my last post...I enjoyed Hellboy 2 far more than The Dark Knight. Expectations really can drastically affect enjoyability.), and most significantly, eat at Moggers. Fun was indeed had by all.
Rantfest: I just finished another backend update. I honestly don't remember the last change because it has been so long and I did not really document all the minor captcha changes I did. The change is the first step in a couple of things__one that will happen shortly and one that probably won't happen anytime soon. Anyways, the changes I did were mostly with the database. Instead of having a table for posts and every post getting its own comment table, now there is one table for posts and one for comments. While the new database design is not as pure as the previous, it should facilitate any changes I have planned in the future. After that, I had to edit 6 of the 1200 lines of code that make up this page to make rantfest work with the new database. I still have to edit a couple more scripts to make everything happy, but the user side is done. EDIT 7:19pm...now I am done.
WoW: I am kind of getting burnt out on WoW..or at least the raiding side of WoW. We will have to see how this pans out.
