Once upon a time, I was using a 17" KDS crt monitor, and aside from being only 17", it was a nice little monitor. I had picked it up at WalMart as a quick fix once my old one had died. It was going to be a rental while I ordered a new one, but I really liked the KDS monitor. So, I kept it, and I got years of use out of it. Sadly, a few months ago, it died.
In the interim, I have been using the wife's old monitor. It is, uh, kinda old. It still works just fine, but being an old curved screen it always seems to catch a glare. Also, being something Erin owned, it is covered with stickers...well, maybe not covered, but it does have a dozen or so more than I would like.
So, now for the new toy, which as odd as it seems is the first in almost two years. My new monitor, a Sceptre X20WG-Naga, is on its way and should arrive sometime today. It is an end of life product (even though they won't really say that), so I got it for about $100 off the MSRP, which is always nice. Even for an end of life product, it exceeds every spec of any monitor I have ever owned and should probably suit me for years to come.
