14 Days and Counting. - The Move
Posted on: 2007-10-01 22:33:13

I am on day four of a headache, and all I want to do is sleep. Due to that, I got far less done than I would have liked, but I have plenty of time so I am not worried. At my worst, I want to pack one room a day. If I count the cupboard, basement, and alcove as one room each that gives me nine days to finish and five for everything else. Using this schedule, I am doing well, but I know push come to shove that it won't really matter. Either Wednesday or Thursday (As soon as my headache dies), I will blow up and go crazy with the packing.

As for the few things I finished today: I cleared off the 'bench' in the living room, since that is where I want to store the totes as they are filled. I also messed with the guest room, since I knew it would be fast. Everything that can be packed in the guest room aside from the clothes is packed. The bed needs to be stripped and broken down, and there is also a full dresser there, but since these are where Kitty spends most of her time, I don't want to move them until we are about to move her. I also called the phone company to switch our service off here and on at the new place on the correct dates, and internet/cable (yes, we are getting cable at the new place) has been ordered.

Tomorrow, I am going to start on the master bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. I also need to mess with the van and do a little food shopping since, well, I am out here.

Once the lease is signed and we pass the point of no return, I will be sending out an email with all of our new vital info to everyone we care about...or at least to everyone we have email addresses for. :)

Sounds like you are blowing right through the packing. That is great! When you have a chance, give a few more details about the new place, what are your first impressions (likes and dislikes)? It will be interesting to see how your first impressions change over a couple months of being in the place.
