It's the navigational control panel from the alien spacecraft held in secrecy at Area 51 in Roswell, New Mexico. Oh yeah, and it's wrapped in bubble wrap.

To be honest, most of the people who read this blog either have seen Simon so would know or have never seen Erin. tBoMM for instance, would have no idea either way...he just knows they are taller than him, because he is short. But even saying that, we have no idea how short he is...unless you follow to here (http://68.118.203.156:3/Gallery/some_dances_1983.shtml) and you will see a picture of him with a pack of Marlboros. Sure, it may look like a theatre prop, but its not.
