Well, this is it..no more SWG. - Games - SWG

I decided last week that I was done with SWG. My account was coming close to running out and I knew I was not going to renew for next month, but there is always the whole some other time that I wanted to avoid this time. I find I get into a loop of leaving, going back, getting addicted, and then right after I renew for another month getting bored and thus mostly wasting the money for that month. While I still think it is the best MMO that I have played, it is very light on the other players, and most of the content I had not done required at least three or four other people. I was also really having problems with the 'time' period thing. The game is supposed to be between episodes four and five. But after episode three came out, they released Rage of the Wookies and it didn't fit. Then Trials of Obi-Wan was released with KotoR content because KotoR 2 came out. Bleh.

So to make it final, I held a little contest in the forums. I asked a single question and the first person to answer got everything. I loaded up 8 houses with all my stuff..roughly 1600 items, gave him admin privilages, and handed over all my cash. I gave him around 11.5mil, but if he sold off everything in the houses he could easily clear 150mil. He is sharing with his guild and I of course became the guild hero of the moment.

But now I feel like I am free of it. I have nothing to draw me back. All my creds are gone, all my items (including quest items I couldn't get again, and all my friends left a long time ago. It will be interesting to see what game takes my fancy next.

I hear

They are revamping Pong with lasers and other such cool stuff. Not really but something like that will come along.

...on finally ending your time with SWG. I just couldn't get myself to go back to it after I left the first time. It just wasn't what I envisioned a good SW RPG to be like. I on the other hand began playing EQ again when the progression servers were launched, but decided I didn't like those because it was simply a race to see which guild could unlock the expansions first. The newest expansion, The Serpent's Spine was just released and I kind of like it, so I began a new character on Quellious again. One of the new Drakkin race. He's a druid and is now level 20. If you make it back to EQ, just let me know.

It will probably happen.

EQ was always a close number 2 on my list. It never had the immersien that SWG had but I think it will always have the community. My biggest problem with it since it was created near the dawn of civilization too many people don't understand that not everyone has a full set of lvl 9000 uber equiped chars that they can quad box to fill any gap.

That being said, I probably won't make it until the end of the year without starting up again. :) I am just hoping to get some work done on the page before that happens.

Animal Crossing?

I like Animal Crossing fairly well and it is something I can do (Kids say that I can't play video games because I don't have the coordination for it).

Joe

There is a small problem with that.

I really don't want to buy another console unit. The only use our PS2 gets is to watch DVDs. I don't get that same satisfaction from the Gamecube. Maybe if I found a few other games for it.

Hey yeah!

I don't have the coordination for most video games either. I've always thought Animal Crossing sounded like fun. :) But I'll probably just go back to EQ once I dig my desk out again. ^_^

Yep
