I want to sleep. - RCM - Misc - DADC
Posted on: 2006-07-13 06:38:15

I am exceptionally tired right now. I just got off of work, which is probably why. Everything was fine until around 2 am, then one of the machines on the line started acting up, and we only did around 5000 pieces after that...should have been more like 15-20,000. We also got out overtime schedule. Assuming we work every day on it (which is more and more likely the closer to the end of the year we get) that adds 21 days to my work term between now and the end of the year. That also means I only have 63 non-holiday days off before the end of the year as well. But with the number of debts and projects we have in mind, 60 hours a week is looking really good. Speaking of which, if I am ever off of work for more than a month again, please, start sending hit squads and make sure I understand that they keep coming until I get employed. I really hate myself for being off for a year and a half. I don't care that was in school for 9 months of that, I should have worked, quit for school, then worked again. Oh well, no need to beat myself up about the past. I should just use it to fuel myself to do better at my current job which should put us in a good place within the month.

One thing I do kinda regret is that I won't be going to school this semester. Given my schedule and the times of all the classes I was planning on taking, it won't be possible if I ever want to get any sleep. So I am taking the semester off. But don't worry, I will be back to the books in the spring since my DADC tour ends then. Part of why I am still up is that I need to call Ivy Tech and drop my classes for the fall.

On a side note...hmm, maybe a teaser since no one will see it for at least a week, I am about 20% done with the new version of RCM. I hate saying new version since I don't really see what is up there as complete. The basic functionality is going to be the same, but I am giving it a new/good look, making the interface a little more intuitive, but also making it feel like you want to view more vs seeing a list of other comics and shrugging them off (like I do. :) ). I am still debating on adding rating and commenting systems in to the mix. I have decided that if I do, I am going to also add-in a mandatory login system to add anything or to vote. It is the only viable honesty system I can really think of since there are those of us, like the creators, that have more than one person stuck behind the same ip address. I know logins as an honesty system don't prevent creating multiple logins, but I only care so much about something I am not getting paid for.
