Random Comic Maker - Site News - RCM

I just finished up with RCM. It does not look very pretty, but the backend is at fairly solid. I will eventually get around to making it look nice, but right now I am tired of looking at it and want to do something else. All the pics were drawn, cut, scanned, and resized by the wife. She also came up with the basic concept for a paper game using them. All I did was take most of her rules and make it into a webpage. Let me know what you think..or her..whatever.

On a semi-related note: I have finally figured a way to get more or less the right times to pop on the posts, as you might notice if you post to RCM...or two ways that I am debating between. I can either set the times in the database to GMT and then adjust as it pulls them or I can save them with the correct time with a little fudging around. Either way, it will be a little sketchy around the DST change dates. I am leaning more towards saving in GMT though (that is how I set up RCM). I have not made the change to rantfest yet since it is going to take a couple of hours of coding and I have a few other things to get done tonight. I am about 95% of the way done with the script that will change the time in the database and once I figure out which way I am going to change it, I will be done. The only thing that has me really conflicted is the fact that Daylight Saving Time is A) set on days of the week and not actual dates so over the years some posts will be off an hour, and 2) we are in this wierd new altered Daylight Saving Time that is different from how the bulk of the world does it.

So much fun!!

So here are a couple of long-term requests:

1. Being able to add comments to the individual comics.

2. Being able to rate comics (and display a top 10 list).

That is funny.

I already have fields for both requests written into the database, and the top 10 would be fairly easy from there.

You can use <b></b> <i></i> <u></u> tags.
