I have been tossing around the idea of working with my theme aabout an hour now and done nothing with it. I just keep focusing on the blankness that seems to be spreading in my head. Oh well, not a big deal. Can't say I have had an original thought in months. I have not written a line of code since my last post, but I am sure no one was really expecting me to either so I don't feel bad. I have a couple of things in mind to work on tomorrow evening.
I have decided that I really need to find someone who makes good brown rice. I have been eating the instant white rice my entire life so I have no basis for comparison on whether I am making it right. Sure, I can follow the directions on the back of the package and produce something edible. However, I have to add a lot of stuff to make it come close to something I would enjoy eating. I am just curious if I am going about it wrong. I am just getting more and more frustrated with my cooking as of late, and spending 40 minutes making something I would almost prefet not to eat does not help.
We are finding and getting used to different things about the new place all the time. For instance, all the lights in the basement, all three rooms, function from one switch (Ok, one of two. They are the toggle state type.) The master bedroom's light switch is on the other side of the door as to where you enter. So you have to either open the door all the way and hit the switch, or open halfway and walk around it. Heh, and of course, even though we don't close the door we leave it open half way so we have to walk around. In the old place, we used to leave the bathroom light on (if you ask us why, we will tell you it is because of the cat, but it is really just because we are dumb.). Now with the bathroom at the opposite end of the hall as our bedroom leaving it on means the room is flooded with light. We killed the light and used a night light, but then it was so dark upstairs that we had to install a lighted light switch in the bedroom so we could find it in its odd spot.
I started work on a new DnD campaign idea. And before I finish this thought, I should mention that I have chucked the online campaign idea...got to thinking about all the MMOs I have played and dropped. Very discouraging. Anyways, while I really like my previous campaign world, I realized that it would work in a series of stories better than it would DnD campaign. As for the new one, the idea has been in my head for less than a week, and I already have a rough outline for more of the plot thought up. Some areas cannot be fleshed out until I know what people are running. I am gonna try to introduce a few new/different things into it then we are used to which will probably both please and annoy people. I am also trying to go through and create a story that makes sense and treat the encounters as a last thought. That was one of my problems I had been having with my other one, ideas would pop up and before I could flesh them out fully I was planning encounters and CRs. Oh well, if I am still thinking about this in a week, then I should be in good shape.
