I am coming off of a coding high right now and I feel pretty good about it. HoL is progressing very quickly and things are falling into place faster than expected. I had several hours of play last night where I basically did a total rewrite of what I had. The code is clearner, far more condenced, and easier to follow. I also caught a couple of things with the authors table that probably would not have revealed themselves as problems until after I turn this app over to the wife for use.

Posted on: 2007-04-18 08:13:20[ More - 5 comments ]My sleep issues have popped back up again. A few days ago I thought I was borderline mono, and I have been off ever since. So, what did I do all last night when I should have been sleeping? Writing code, of course. I have been slowly working moving most of the duplicated code out into reusable functions, but for some reason. Last night, however, I opted to forget almost everything I had been doing and focus on making the back end look pretty. As of today, the backend has had two looks, crappy, and not quite as crappy. The look is more or less nailed down now. I will have to make some changes on the individual pages, but I like where it is going. I am also trying to make it easier to change to look in the future by taking a stance similar to how I have handled the front end pages.
