I think the only thing that is keeping me alive anymore is music. Whether is is something melancholic as Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, the cries for love of Serj Tankian's Gate 21, or the soothing and haunting melody of Jeljel the only thing that seems to keep me from slitting my throat is music.

I have come to the conclusion that I should show my support to the one person that made this website possible. Or something like that. You see today is his birthday, and typically people give presents, cards, candy, what have you to the person that is in the spotlight. Well I don't have a money, it is too late to send a card, and from my understanding he already has candy... so I'll throw a picture up in honor. Happy Birthday Talam.

Well Murphy is running fine right now. It took a little bit more time for him to start up, but he seems to be doing fine now... the bastard. As for what was lost... well it isn't as though I have that great of a photographic memory (if I even have one) so the pictures are gone for good more or less. I may end up finding them again and saving them or I may see it and remember that I have it, but really don't. I'll live without them, but there is still the small pit of sadness left from losing them....

Someone on AA got the idea to have people post their top five favorite bands and a song that they liked from them. I jumped on the wagon with at least four bands that I thought needed to be noticed. I'll go through and give the band, song, and something that I liked about it. I may end up linking this to AA, so...

I'll start with "Numb" by Linkin Park. The main reason I like this song is because it reminds me to be myself and not to cave into what others want me to be. If I do I'll just end up becoming depressed again. It also reminds me of how my mother has a death "hug" on me. This "hug" causes me to suffocate and loss a part of me. I mostly am reminded of my brother and how he was in my shoes at one time and how he is putting me in those shoes... or something like that.

Next up is "Glycerine" by Bush. I feel that this song is beautiful. I haven't given it enough thought to to actually tie it into my life. I really wanted to use this for my graduation slide show, but I didn't think that it would have worked out or that there was a viable reason for it. It is still a beautiful song.

A darker song with a darker meaning: "Chop Suey!" by System of a Down. The first line is so soft that even with the speakers blaring you can't really understand it. I believe that he is saying "We're all committing suicide," but there are people that have said otherwise. While I don't feel it is "self-righteous," I do have a feeling or a longing for suicide. I no longer have the strong desire to grasp it, though. I also have this feeling of being forsaken. As by what, I do not know. I loved this song so much that I decided to draw out what I "visualized" when I heard it. Kind of foolish, but then again who isn't foolish once in their lives.

The last, oldest (for me), and my most favorite song: "The Freshmen" by the Verve Pipe. I can not resist the urge to sing this song, nor do I try. The reason I say it is the oldest is because this is the first song that ever fell in love with. It wasn't until a few years later that some songs were released and for Glycerine I didn't hear it until about two years ago. I don't know what I was thinking when I was a kid. It isn't as though I was capable of understanding some of the lines. I might have felt the sorrow from the writer and just liked it for the sorrow. Years later I grasped the meaning of some of the lines such as "...what made us think that we were wise..." but even then I didn't get things like "...stop a baby's breath and a shoe full of rice..." (yes that is the line!) meant that there was an abortion and there wasn't going to be a wedding.

I had, until a couple of days ago, a picture of the song. That picture as been replaced with that of the writer's/singer's picture. Copy, paste (the url), and read for yourself what it means. This doesn't change the fact that it is my favorite song in the entire world and I'll never stop singing it.

I love these songs and hope that you enjoy them, AA members. I have yet to decide if I'll even show anyone this post.
