NaNoWriMo Y4 D8: My fault I am behind. - Stories - Games - NaNoWriMo - WoW
Posted on: 2010-11-08 02:15:44

I had been planning to update a bunch on my NaNo progress, but I sidetracked myself. Just before NaNo kicked off, I started a post about all the dramatic changes Blizzard made to Holy Paladins in Warcraft. I got about half way through my post, got bored with it, saved it to draft, and never returned to it. I wanted to finish it before moving on, hence the lack of random word counts. I suck at updates anyways.

NaNoWriMo Y4 D-7: The Backtrack - Stories - Games - NaNoWriMo

I have not progressed nearly as well as I would like in my story planning. I blame WoW and my total lack of comprehension of time. I do have quite a bit planned out, possibly more than my previous three years. Still, I don't think I am ready. And in that vein, I am not sure I am going to do book 3 this NaNo. In fact, I think I am going to do book 1 again. I only got a little over 12k in the first time around, I am scraping some of that, and rewriting most of the rest, so why not? Besides, it feels weird talking about work on subsequent novels when the first one isn't done yet.

xBox 360 Slim and Fallout 3 - Games
Posted on: 2010-07-31 02:24:50

I picked up a new for me game a few weeks ago, Fallout 3 for the 360. I say new for me because it came out in late 2008, but I just picked it up. I tend to wait for the price to come down because I am cheap and fickle about new games...the more I pay the more critical I am and the more critical I am the less likely I am to play it. Thus far, the biggest downfall of the game is that it is on a console (yes, there is a PC version, but my PC can't handle it).

First, a quick apology: This is a probably not so quick look into my head that may just leave you forever changed. The change will probably be along the lines of wondering what the hell is wrong with me everytime you look at an lcd clock, but it might just get you playing too, which is slightly more insidious.

I am aware of the lack of posts. Oddly, it doesn't even stem from a lack of anything to post about, just nothing over exciting, or at least nothing I feel excited about to somehow stretch it out into a single post. Instead of hashing out the reason(s) I have just been wearily plodding on, just being content that I can, in fact, wearily plod on. So here is a sum up:

WoW: Big Heal - WoW - Games

I don't remember the last time I actually healed a fight on my Paly, I have mostly been focusing on my mage. But last night at work, I was obsessed with writing macros. Although it isn't anything special, this is the one I came up with:

Catching up with the last couple of days. - Misc - Site News - Comics - Games - Computer

It doesn't feel like it has been six days since I posted last. I have been playing catch up, I guess. I mentioned that the wife's hard drive died, but I left it there. Not bothering with all the details, SpinRite managed to work some magic, and I was able to recover the files. I seriously thought there was a dropped platter or the head was grinding into one at least, but somehow SpinRite fixed it (there were two unrecoverable sectors, but everything else was fine). After finishing off the wife's computer, I tossed the drive in my laptop, reloaded Windows, and it has been working fine ever since.

GTA4: The Finale..of the important story. - Games

GTA4

I finally got around to beating Grand Theft Auto 4, and much like the rest of the game it left me wanting more. Don't get me wrong, the game was fun, but it is probably my least favorite of the series. One of the things different about this game is choice, and while you only get to make a choice maybe a half dozen times in the game, there are two that are actually game changing. One of which will change the ending of the game, including the last couple of missions (okay, technically I only know it changes one...I have yet to be compelled to reload my save and play the last part again). But the most significant choice involves how you deal with your nemesis.

GTA4 Lollipop Girl!

Punk boy came up this past weekend, and I was reintroduced (maybe just introduced since I had barely played it previously.) to Grand Theft Auto 4. Now I have played about half of the GTA games. I own and have played at length GTA3, GTA: San Andreas, and GTA: Vice City. But none of them are nearly as amusing as this one to me. The more I play this game the more amused I get.

NaNoWriMo: Yeah 3 Day 16: Doing other stuff - Games - Stories - NaNoWriMo
Posted on: 2009-11-16 21:33:39

If you have been paying attention to my word count, I have not been moving forward much with NaNo the last few days. There were a couple of reasons, I did a little work on the page, Damien came up for the weekend, we messed around in Grand Theft Auto 4 (I have played more in the last three days than I have since I bought the game almost a year ago.), but mostly, I was kind of stuck. The section I was working on, ended up being a lot longer than I thought it was going to be, but as I was going, it changed how I had seen the ending in my head. While I think it is going to be better now, I got a little lost between where I was and where I was going.
