One hell of a weekend.

So today, I clocked out from work a little early, grabbed some quick groceries, and ran out to my car with the intent of making some food, watching a movie, and playing EQ2. The plan fell short when I reached my car...and it did not start. I got about 2 seconds of power and that was it...my battery died. Of course it has been a few years since it was replace so it was probably past due to be replaced.

I tried removing, but my ineptness, and the periodic spark, got the best of me. I went in the the Auto Care part of the store to see if it would be a possibility for one of the guys from the garage to assist. Sure, just sign up, the wait is probably about an hour, just sign up out there. I go out to the garage, sure no problem, we can jump it to give it enough juice to get over here, and then we can swap it... what battery do you need? Uh, I forgot. No problem, just run out to the counter and they can look it up. Several minutes of looking through the book with no results, I just ran back out to my car and checked...BT-3. (Oh, I am forgetting all the lines I had to wait it...about 10 minutes each time.) I come back in, oh yeah, if it is the BT-3 you need the BT-3N. I checked the UPC was the same and it looked about the same size and configuration. I went back to the garage... If they can't find you in the book, we can't do it, but we can provide you with the tools if you need them. How about a brief tutorial instead. I have the tools, but have no idea what I am doing.

After that is over, I run out. I get the battery off...fewer sparks as I went since the battery really did not have much of a charge. Took it in, got a new one, the world seemed to be getting better. Oh yeah, it is now almost 2 hours after I clocked out from work. Another 20 minutes playing and removing shit...the fucking battery won't go where the old battery had been. It is somehow now too wide, and while the battery will technically fit in other orientations, the cables are not long enough to reach where they need to go....Fuck.

So now, my car is still sitting at work...with my coat, book, and groceries int he front seat (hope no one notices and decided to steal them), and I am at home. I have to be at work in 6.5 hours, and my wife is out of town so no other vehicle. Lucky for me one of my friends is willing to take me tomorrow, and I am sure I can get a ride back home somehow. Oh, and speaking of the wife, I forgot to feed her fish and snail. And to top it all off, I still can't get the idea that my Scout leader was a pedophile out of my head.

My poor baby!

That's all so rotten! Why is it that these things always seem to happen at the most inoportune times? :( And don't worry about Squeak and Cthulu; they'll live. I just wish I were there to help make everything better.
Sorry, dude

I have dealt with the Wal-Mart auto service repair center before, and at least you got out after a couple of hours, though without a working car. Steven and I spent an entire evening in there while they put my new battery in the wrong car and then took another hour to swap them...I hope everything works out!
